Renovate or Build
ONE QUESTION THAT those in the interior
design field are most often asked is whether to renovate or build. This is never an easy question to answer, as there are many factors to consider before making a decision.
Renovation and building are two of the most stressful things a home owner can do in their life. However, there is one important rule that will
make the process much smoother and easier.
That rule is to plan. If no real plan of outcome is established, a number of things can happen: money can run out; jobs can be incomplete; or a mismatched, disjointed space can be created.
To avoid the detrimental effects of failing to plan, it is worth engaging an interior designer. A designer will assist with the overall design process, engage a building designer to generate plans, obtain quotes, help to plan your budget, and advise on any potential challenges or pitfalls. Also, if they have the right qualifications, a designer can ensure you don’t over-capitalise for your neighbourhood.
